Feels like home

Pulling in to the Las Vegas valley, I must admit still feels like we are arriving home. It’s been since 2001 that we lived here but the place just feels like a worn out old robe you wrap around yourself for comfort, at least for me. The planes and helicopters of Nellis Air Force Base dotted the skyline with the Strip glittering in the afternoon sunset as we drove I-15 via the Virgin River Gorge after leaving our sons home and the beauty of Southern Utah to find the warmth and winter escape we are seeking. The truck thermometer hit 68 as we pulled in to the city. We have arrived and it feels so good! We have a fun weekend planned. It’s Super Bowl weekend and if you can’t be at the game in person Las Vegas is the place to be for Big Game fun. We find ourselves at South Point, at the far south end of the Strip. We’ve stopped in to the sports book here and there over the years but never stayed here. We expect, good food, fun Super Bowl party and ease of access to the betting action as well as easy in and out to friends and family, allowing us to avoid strip traffic congestion. I’ll keep you posted as we unfold this long weekend of Vegas fun!
